Lux Candle & Living: Our dream to move to California and create a home for veterans and animals
For me, Lux Candle & Living is more than just a candle shop.
It is a first step towards fulfilling my greater purpose - a vision that has been with me for years. When I was 21, I had the opportunity to live in California for four months. That time changed my life. California felt like a second home, but it wasn't just the places or experiences that shaped me. It was the people. I remember one encounter in particular: I met a group of young men who were on a break from the military. They were my age, and yet they carried a heaviness within them that touched me deeply. Their eyes told of experiences that I could not even imagine - full of emptiness, sadness and pain. These encounters left their mark on me, and to this day the image of these men has stuck with me. In California, I also saw many veterans on the streets, people who were forgotten and left alone after their service. This injustice burned itself into my heart. Since then, I have known that my purpose is to one day create a home for veterans - a place where they can find support, community and hope. My dream My goal is to open a home in the USA for veterans who often struggle with the consequences of war and loneliness.
I want to offer them psychological support, reintegrate them into society and make them feel that they are not alone. A special part of this project will be working with animals. I dream of integrating animal shelters into the veterans' home so that animals and people can help each other. Dogs could not only be companions, but also be trained specifically for PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) to provide comfort and security in difficult moments. In addition, I want to offer veterans a chance to lead an independent life again. My goal is to offer them jobs at Lux Candle & Living. They could work in production, design or sales - depending on their skills and interests. This not only gives them the opportunity to earn money, but also a way to feel part of society again. I want to show them that they are needed and can make an important contribution. How Lux Candle & Living contributes to my vision The candles that I make with love and creativity are the first step on the way to making this dream come true. With every product sold, I come closer to my goal of building up enough resources to one day start such a project in California. Lux Candle & Living stands for more than just sustainability and aesthetics. It stands for love, hope and the belief that we can achieve great things together. I believe that the world needs more compassion - for people and animals. Veterans who have sacrificed so much deserve our full support, and I want to create a place where they can not only find help, but also a new perspective. My personal drive As a tattoo artist and creative soul, I have always enjoyed creating things that touch people. This passion drives me to create something meaningful with my candles too.
